Course Overview
This course provides a practical introduction to deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to protect server & end point devices. It focuses on the initial setup, onboarding, and configuration of security policies required to secure both cloud and on-premises servers and end points.
Participants will learn how to enable and deploy Microsoft Defender, onboard device, configure protection and monitoring policies, and apply recommended security settings. By the end of the course, attendees will understand how to establish a secure baseline and effectively manage Defender protections across their customer.

Speaker Zlatko Apelic is a Senior Solution Engineer at Microsoft, based in Dublin, where he works with customers and partners across the UK & Ireland to design and secure cloud environments using Microsoft Security solutions. He specializes in cloud security, compliance, and governance, with deep hands‑on experience helping organizations adopt and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud to improve their security posture across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. Zlatko regularly delivers technical workshops and webinars, translating complex security concepts into practical, actionable guidance for customers.
