The Microsoft Azure ecosystem is evolving rapidly, and for CSP resellers, standing out and unlocking new opportunities has never been more important. Achieving an Azure Solutions Partner Designation – especially via the SMB Path – is a game-changer for partners focusing on CSP and SMB customers.
The Azure Solutions Partner Designation is Microsoft’s way of recognising partners who demonstrate technical expertise and a commitment to customer success in Azure. For CSP resellers, this badge is more than just a credential — it’s a signal to customers and Microsoft that you are a trusted, experienced, and capable Azure partner.
Achieving the designation is a powerful way to showcase your technical skills and commitment to cloud transformation. It differentiates your business in a crowded market and builds trust with customers seeking proven Azure partners.
Designated partners gain access to a range of valuable Microsoft resources, including:
These IUR resources help CSP partners build, test, and deliver better solutions for your customers.
From October 2025, Microsoft has lowered the threshold for partners to access Azure incentives. Even without the full designation, partners with just 25 points in any Azure, Modern Work, or Security solution area can access the Azure 3% core rebate and the new 7.5% Azure growth incentive. This makes incentives more inclusive for smaller partners and provides a bridge to achieving the full designation. At the 25-point level, there’s no need to pay the annual designation fee to access incentives, therefore significantly lowering the barrier for smaller partners to participate in Microsoft’s incentive programs – such as Azure Accelerate.
The full designation (70 points and above) unlocks a comprehensive package of benefits, including funded programs like Azure Accelerate, Cloud Accelerate Factory (CAF) and enhanced co-selling capabilities. It also provides long-term support from Microsoft and helps your business stand out with the official Solutions Partner badge.
What is Azure Accelerate?
One of the most significant benefits of achieving the Azure SMB Solutions Partner Designation is access to the Azure Accelerate program – a unified incentive initiative designed to boost Azure adoption and partner profitability.
Azure Accelerate is available to partners who hold an SMB or Enterprise Solutions Partner Designation and meet the relevant Azure consumption thresholds. For SMB-focused partners, this program opens doors to funding and incentives that were previously reserved for those with full specialisations. Microsoft has increased Azure funding for FY26 by over 70%, making now the perfect time to take advantage of these opportunities.
Azure Accelerate streamlines previous programs (like Azure Migrate & Modernize, AI Innovate, and Cloud Accelerate Factory (CAF) into a single, easy-to-access initiative.
Azure Accelerate offers partners:

Azure Designations unlock substantial CSP partner benefits including Microsoft incentives, rebates, IUR licensing, CO-OP funding, Azure Accelerate funding and more.
However, many partners struggle to achieve a designation – due to gaps in technical capability, unclear requirements, and limited time or resources.
To address this, MWH are offering our Azure SMB Designation Fast Track Program – a guided, hands-on approach to accelerate your path to an Azure SMB Designation.
The program includes:
We’re limiting this offer to 5 partners per quarter, so act now! As an added incentive, partners who achieve an Azure SMB designation within 6 months of joining this program will receive Azure GTM spend.
Achieving the Azure SMB Solutions Partner Designation is more accessible than ever for CSP resellers, especially CSP partners serving the SMB segment. The benefits include exclusive resources, incentives, and market differentiation – making Designations a strategic investment in your business’s future. Most importantly, it opens the door to Azure Accelerate funding, the Cloud Accelerate Factory (CAF), and empowering you to drive growth, profitability, and technical excellence.
